Aether Vacuum Degassing

Intlvac

The Intlvac Aether degasses small components for space use. It holds them under high vacuum while they’re baked by thermal radiation, and it’s designed for rapid, consecutive runs.

Why parts are degassed

Materials that behave on the ground can release gas under vacuum, and in orbit that gas can condense on optics and sensors. Baking parts under vacuum before flight drives it off.

Chamber

The stainless steel chamber is 24″ (610 mm) inside diameter by 24″ deep, with a working area 15.75″ (400 mm) in diameter by 19″ (483 mm) deep. A large optical viewport with an explosion guard is fitted to the lid, which opens with pneumatic assist and rests at 45°.

Control

The Aether is controlled automatically by a PLC through a LabVIEW interface, with complete data logging and remote operation.

Working with SiSTEM

SiSTEM is Intlvac’s partner for the UK, Ireland and most of Europe. We scope your system with you and Intlvac’s engineers, and stay your local contact through quotation, installation and after-sales. Tell us the parts you need to degas, their materials and the standard you’re working to, and we’ll take it to Intlvac.
